Therapy in New Orleans
Most of us don’t need to be in therapy forever. I provide goal-oriented therapy to individuals seeking a season or two of support, self-exploration, and skill-building. I also offer longer-term mental health treatment to individuals who are figuring out their life stories: how they got to the present moment, and where they want to go from here.
My Approach
I believe we need a sturdy base of trust, courage, and self-compassion to improve how we think about and face challenges. I specialize in helping individuals navigate life changes, including the tricky transitions of early adulthood, turning points of relationships, and lifelong fluctuations in mood and motivation.
I have a particular interest in helping young adults befriend their difficult feelings, in order to foster a strong sense of identity, a balanced work ethic, and mutual respect in relationships.
Before opening my private practice, I worked with law students and undergraduates at Loyola University, as well as with adults at the Spyre Center in New Orleans.
Many of my clients have been brand-new to therapy.
About Molly
I have a B.A. in English from Columbia University, a Ph.D. in English from the CUNY Graduate Center, a postdoctoral fellowship from the University of Southern California, and a master’s degree in social work from Tulane University. I am a licensed social worker in Louisiana (#17010).
My twelve years of teaching college-level literature and writing, and my doctoral research on family secrets, inform my practice of helping individuals make meaning out of the stories they are already living.
As a career-changer and New Orleans transplant, I have a deep respect for the bravery and honesty required to make a positive life change. After living in New York City for 20 years, I moved with my family to New Orleans in 2016.
